Avocado Deep Facial Cleanser

We have two fresh avocados in the house, but since I'm allergic to them, it's best if I stay away from ingesting it in general. However, that doesn't mean that it'll stop me from trying out a mask on my sister or mother with the stuff.

People have been using avocado as a natural facial treatment for years, especially for dry skin. Here I'm going to show you how to make an avocado deep facial cleanser.

Ingredients:

1/2 an Avocado
It contains vitamins A, C, E, and K, which helps a great deal to improve overall skin health and give a soft look and instant glow. It's an ideal remedy for eczema, red skin, aging skin, and sensitive skin.

1 Egg Yolk
If you've read my egg mask instructions, then you'll know what the yolk can do for your skin. The egg yolk has a lot protein and fatty acids in there that will help your skin. This mask will replenish your skin and tighten up your pores. It's also a natural moisturizer.

1/2 Cup Milk
A lot of people don't realize how good milk is for the skin. It contains natural lipids which moisturizes the skin deeply. Moisturizers play a major factor in skin cell renewal. Milk also rehydrates, creating a healthy balance of serum in the skin.

You'll also need a Small Jar, Fork, and Blender.

Steps:

Peel and mash the half of the avocado.

Add the half cup milk to it and mix all together.

Beat the yolk until it's light and frothy.

Put all three ingredients into the blender together. If you don't have one, beat the mixture with a fork until you have a thin cream or lotion-like consistency.

Pour into jar.

Ta-da~ Your deep cleanser is complete.

Now just put an even amount onto your face, leave on for a few minutes, and rinse off thoroughly. Your skin should feel nice and soft and refreshed.

** You can use a small cotton swab and apply evenly onto your face. Or, you can just use your cleaned hands.

** Depending on how much you'd like to make, you can always adjust the amount of how much you'd like to make. Like 1/4 Avocado, 1/4 Milk, and 1/2 Egg Yolk.

** This can be refrigerated for a few weeks.

Banana Mask

Honestly, when I think of banana's, I think of these guys:
I'm guessing no one else remembers that. Times like these, I feel old lol.

Onwards we go.

Overall, this fruit is great for your health, here are six things that they do for your body:

1) Banana's are an energy booster.
2) They contain tryptophan (a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, which is a hormone that is known to make you feel happy and improve your mood).
3) They're a rich source of iron, thus it is helpful in cases of anemia.
4) They're a good source of potassium.
5) The skin of a banana is said to remove warts!
6) And, they're good for people who have high blood pressure because of their low salt.

Banana's are also helpful in the following causes: stomach ulcers, colitis, digestive disorder, diarrhea, constipation, and hemorrhoids.

Laugh all you want, but they're a great go-to, and helpful, fruit.

So, you're probably wondering, what exactly can they do for your skin?

Ingredients:

2 Medium Bananas
They're a moisturizer for dry skin, and leave it softer with hydrating action. They help exfoliate the skin by removing dead skin cells and leaving you with a fresh look. Since they help hydrate oily skin, they also combat acne and shield the skin from loss of moisture. Bananas also provide anti-aging benefits, keeping your skin looking young and fresh.

(OPTIONAL) 2 Tablespoons Honey
If you've been following my blog, you know exactly what honey can do for you.

You'll also need a Fork, and a Mixing Bowl.

Steps:

Mash the bananas with a fork; don't over mash or it will become too runny.

Add honey and mix all together.

Smooth evenly over skin for 10 minutes. Rinse off with cool water.

Apply regular moisturizer.

**This mask is wonderful for people who suffer from dry skin.

** If you'd like, you can keep this in a jar in the fridge for about a week or so. I recommend using this mask, at most, twice a week as part of your normal skin regimen.

Oatmeal Mask

We all know how great oatmeal is for your skin. This mask is to fight acne. You'll probably start to realize that I'm all about acne prevention here, and that's because I've been dealing with it for years. Since I was 14 (AH!! Very long time now. Yikes!) And I've tried TONS of things for it! So, as an adult, I've figured out that natural is the best for my skin. This mask can also help someone who suffers from acne rosacea.

This mask is safe and gentle, and hopefully it'll work for you.

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon Oatmeal
In such a concentrated form, it works great against acne. It's also a good moisturizer. Make sure it's unflavored, and original oatmeal, not instant.

A Dash of Honey
Helps get rid of any blemish.

2 Tablespoons Water

You'll also need a small Bowl, and a Spoon.

Steps:

Mix the three together until it makes a paste.

Gently spread on your face. I found that the easiest way to do this is by using the back of the spoon.

Leave on for 10 - 15 minutes, or until dry.

Rinse off gently with warm water. Then again with cool water to close your pores.

Use your normal moisturizer after.

If you'd like to make more, feel free to double or triple this recipe. It's good for 3-4 weeks if kept at room temperature. You do NOT want to refrigerate this.

**Also, this mask can be a bit messy, I recommend using a shirt you wouldn't mind getting oatmeal on. Beware of spillage on the floors. My dog loved the taste, so she ate anything I spilt, some of you may not be as luck as to have such a natural vacuum/mop combo.

Ice Mask

I tried this one out just after I finished using my normal face wash and doing another mask. It's very SIMPLE. The easiest way to close your pores really.

Ingredients:

1 Ice Cube

Steps:

Wash your face with luke warm water as you always do.

Do a different type of mask if you'd like, remember to rinse off with warm water as well.

Keep your pores open for a little while so that your skin can breathe.

When you're done, use the ice cube and start running it all along your face. Especially where you have larger pores. This will close them up ASAP.

Once you're done with the ice, gently pat your face dry.

Use your typical moisturizer.

**Yes, this one is cold. And if you're skin is still highly sensitive after scrubbing it squeaky clean, it may sting a bit.  But the end results are pleasing.

Lip Scrub

When it comes to taking care of your face, it's not hard to over look the little things. Such as your lips! Your mouth is on your face, it's one of your most prominent features, but what's the most that you really do for it?

I tend to use medicated Burt's Bee's lip balm (great stuff). But now, instead of just layering lip balm on top of damaged, and delicate, skin, here is a scrub that can help with an in-depth moisturizing.

This is especially good during the colder months, when the weather gets extremely harsh for your skin.

Ingredients:

1 Tablespoon Honey
Rich in antioxidants, great moisturizer, it can heal blemishes and other skin problems. It can cure acne, and it can soften your skin like nothing else.

1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
The best natural exfoliate ever. Due t the fact that it takes the dead skin cells without being overly harsh, and it doesn't leave your face red of sensitive afterwards if used correctly.

Some Olive Oil (OR moisturizing lip balm of your choice)
Helps maintain the elasticity of the skin, and promotes a smooth, radiant, complexion.

Steps:

Mix the honey and making soda until it resembles a paste.

Place on lips and leave on for 3 - 5 minutes.

Gently rub lips.

Rinse off with luke warm water.

Apply a tiny bit of olive oil (or lip balm of your choice) to rehydrate.

**You can always make more and keep it in a small jar, stored at room temperature. It'll be good for a few weeks.
